Neela Vaal Minchittu in Tamil (நீள வால் மின்சிட்டு)
Resident. Male has red wing line down secondaries. Female has indistinct yellow forehead and supercilium, grey ear coverts, and pale yellow throat. Distinctive pi-ru whistle. Forest; also well wooded areas in winter.
