Widespread resident. Adult has black crest, and rufous orange sides of head and underparts. Juvenile lacks crest; has grey brown cap and paler orange buff underparts. Dry, well wooded areas and thorn scrub.
hello, i'm chennai based. and have been to coimbatore only twice and that too for visiting relatives. i'm glady surprised to see so many beautiful and exotic birds and in TN. i was guessing u may be from kerala :)looking at the wonderful birds.
ReplyDeletemy husband and i love birding too. we've been in the US now for the past two yrs and go on bird watching trips. after coming back to india, we'll certainly be coming to coimbatore to check these birds out. thank you so much for sharing.
