Semmaarbu Kukkuruvan in Tamil (செம்மார்பு குக்குருவன்)
Resident. Small size, crimson forehead and breast patch, yellow patches above and below eye, yellow throat and streaked underparts. Juvenile lacks red on head and breast. Call is a repetitive tuk, tuk, tuk etc. Open wooded country and groves.
